For my previous employers in the Scottish Borders I have managed large areas of productive coniferous woodland.

Currently I manage a large forest near Teviothead in the Scottish Borders of around 360 hectares (890 acres).

Although the property is in a care and maintenance phase, work lately has involved negotiating a new access, re-compartmentalising the property and undertaking a complete re-assessment of the yield classes.

I also manage an area of mixed broadleaf woodland in East Lothian. This woodland though small at around 18 Ha (44 acres) is complex, the largest block being protected by a Tree Preservation Order. Despite this and with the agreement of the owners and the local authority I have instituted a selective felling and replanting programme, which is well underway.
